I've been known to tell a good fishing story. It's not that I'm really lying. I like to be enthusiastic about my story. I love fishing and it comes out when I'm telling a story. But sometimes when you've been catching 10 inchers, then you catch a 15 1/5 incher, it might seem bigger than it is. jcb

Shoreman, I have probably done that (stretch the truth) myself once or twice... usually when it's a story about a fish I caught a long time ago and I can't quite remember how big it was. ;)

I definitely agree with you that pictures can be deceiving.

Ok, I've enhanced a tale once or twice, not usually to exaggerate my catch, but more to downplay it. I'm all for sharing info with friends, but gotta keep those honey holes under wraps.

I'm not sure. It could go either way. I don't think it's out right lying, more stretching the truth than anything. You want to make that fish just a little bit longer, a little bit heavier, a little bit bigger around. Even if you take pictures, they can be deceiving.
